On Strike — October 29, 2026 · Ancient Fashion Records
Montréal/Los Angeles trio American Lips are done playing nice. On Strike!, their new full-length, dropped October 29 on Ancient Fashion Records and it hits like a busted fuse box, all splintered guitar, dry wit, and tightly coiled rhythm sections that refuse to sit still.
Think Wire's precision, Pixies' muscle, Devo's absurdist remove, and Parquet Courts' righteous agitation. Fans of The Fall, Pere Ubu, and ESG will feel right at home. This is the record for everyone who clocked out spiritually three years ago and never clocked back in.
Fronted by Adrian Popovich (Tricky Woo, FRVITS), anchored by bassist/vocalist Jessica Bruzzese, and driven by Sebastien Grainger, the gold-certified drummer from Death From Above 1979, American Lips balance serious underground credentials with hooks sharp enough to draw blood. Consumer culture gets gutted on Cardboard Trash, burnout gets its anthem on On Strike and Sleep, and Got It Made takes a hammer to empire's crumbling facade. The band recorded with a focused, almost confrontational intentionality, and it shows. Every track lands with the efficiency of a well-timed grievance.

After heavy alt and college radio rotation for Waste of Crime, the band doubles down and turns the screws tighter. Where that record introduced American Lips as a band worth watching, On Strike! makes the case that they were worth following all along. This isn't a reinvention. It's a reckoning.
On Strike! isn't a thesis. It's a walkout. And the door is already swinging shut behind them.
